Radiotronic Architecture for HEMP-Immune Hypersonic Guidance and Tactical Communications

Advanced tactical missile defense and hypersonic strike platforms face severe operational vulnerabilities. High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) events, ground-based High-Power Microwave (HPM) directed-energy weapons, and hypervelocity aerothermal heating (> 500°C) rapidly degrade or destroy traditional silicon CMOS microelectronics. Furthermore, modern electronic warfare (EW) environments easily jam standard digital radio-frequency (RF) data links.

This article presents the Radiotronic Computing Architecture—a zero-semiconductor, monolithic Nucleonic Solid-State Architecture (NSSA) based on a high-temperature Strontium Hexaboride (SrB₆) ceramic matrix. By unifying analog in-memory matrix computing, direct rolling analog actuation, and hyperdimensional vector communications within a high-temperature, radiation-hardened ceramic substrate, Radiotronics provides an un-jammable, HEMP-immune guidance and control platform for hypersonic interceptors and swarming tactical effectors.

1. The Vulnerability of Silicon in Hypersonic and EW Regimes

Modern hit-to-kill interceptors and hypersonic glide vehicles rely on silicon integrated circuits for inertial measurement, target tracking, and terminal guidance. However, silicon CMOS architectures present three critical physical failure points:

HEMP/HPM Dielectric Breakdown: Nuclear exoatmospheric detonations and HPM weapons induce high-voltage transients across delicate gate oxides (∼ 1 nm thick), causing catastrophic Single Event Latch-ups (SEL) and physical junction burnout.

Aerothermal Thermal Runaway: At hypersonic velocities (> Mach 5), skin friction elevates internal airframe temperatures beyond 500°C. Silicon intrinsic carrier concentration scales exponentially with temperature, causing severe junction leakage and logic state collapse above 125°C.

Control Loop Latency & EMI: Digital Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) used in Divert and Attitude Control Systems (DACS) creates high-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) and inductive back-EMF spikes, accelerating mechanical solenoid fatigue and introducing pipeline latency during terminal maneuvers.

2. Radiotronic Defense Architecture

The Radiotronic platform replaces silicon microelectronics with a monolithic SrB₆ ceramic matrix integrated with an internal radioisotope driver (Sr⁹⁰ / Y⁹⁰) or excited directly by external atmospheric/radiological flux.

2.1 HEMP and Thermal Immunity

SrB₆ possesses a melting point exceeding 2200°C and a rigid 3D boron cage lattice. Because it operates via bulk charge-trap states and secondary ionization clouds rather than thin oxide p-n junctions, massive electromagnetic surges from HEMP or HPM weapons pass through the material without causing structural damage or state corruption. The chip operates continuously through extreme thermal environments (> 500°C), eliminating the mass and volume penalties of active cooling jackets and heavy lead shielding.

2.2 Sub-Nanosecond Terminal Guidance In-Memory

Target tracking algorithms execute via native Kirchhoff Charge Cascades directly within the SrB₆ domain volume. Line-of-sight angle rate adjustments and kinematic vector estimation are computed in sub-nanosecond timescales, eliminating the clock-cycle delays of digital CPUs and GPUs during terminal hit-to-kill maneuvers.

2.3 Direct Rolling Analog DACS Actuation

Instead of switching power transistors ON and OFF via PWM, the Radiotronic core modulates the internal secondary carrier density to deliver a smooth, continuous analog current directly to DACS solenoid valves and thrust-vectoring actuators. This eliminates high-frequency switching EMI, suppresses destructive inductive back-EMF spikes, and provides smooth proportional throttling for maneuver stability.

3. Anti-Jamming Tactical Swarm Communications

Radiotronic tactical communications utilize Hyperdimensional Vector Encoding (HDC) driven by the dual-transceiver framework:

Holographic Vector Distribution: Data is encoded across high-dimensional orthogonal vector manifolds. Random or broad-spectrum electronic jamming signals are mathematically orthogonal to the message vector (A⋅Njamming ≈ 0).

Low Probability of Intercept / Detection (LPI/LPD): The transmitted signal resembles background thermal/radiological noise to an adversary. Interceptors within a swarm decode incoming vector states using pre-conditioned spatial dot-product operations in their local Radiotronic matrices, providing un-jammable tactical data sharing across contested battlefields.
